Test rode the new GSA earlier this week.

Great ride / acceleration / gizmos, etc.

The throttle is much more sensitive and that took getting used too. The gears are quite smooth and considering that it was such a low mileage bike, that's impressive. My 08 GSA took a few thousand miles to get smooth.

The position of the new indicator switch didn't quite work for me. For some reason, with winter gloves on. I couldn't toggle it without taking my hand off the handlebar a little. Maybe something one can used to.

2 things kept me from ordering it right there -

The seat is much narrower than the previous model and for me - 6'4" 235lbs - it didn't quite work.

And, they have changed the layout of the pegs/kickstand/centerstand. With my size 13boots, I kept hitting the centerstand. And the riding position has been subtly altered. Couldn't quite put my finger on it.

I rode it for an hour and got quite uncomfortable by the end. I can go for 8 hours on my 08 GSA with no trouble.

My feelings exactly. The sidestand is always in the way when shifting gears. And there is not much room to alter the position of the gear lever, which to start off with is already uncomfortable even in its "highest" position. I think an aftermarket gear lever is the only solution in this instance???

I wondered why some people had trouble with access to the gear lever and I didn't until I saw one guy explaining his problem and noticed that he had thick soles on his boots.

Very easy to fix! Put the bike on the side stand, get a rubber hammer and hammer it a bit down to the left down side! No joke, did that on my 13 GSW (sold) and it woks perfectly. Never touched the lever again with my boots while shifting and additionally it was still easy to flap the side stand out.

It's almost as if BMW designed the LC to be ridden in high heels!:JB
