Deatils of a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum
www.thenma.org.uk

  • Meet up early Saturday 14th May somewhere in Kent and head off to NMA.
  • Once visit complete then head off to a campsite at the back of a pub in Snarestone and setup camp. £7pppn. Additional cost if you want electric.
  • Shower and outside loo.
  • Pub open until 00:30.
  • If we have enough people and pre-book then pub will do a breakfast for us on Sunday morning for approx £3:50.
Please respond with a yes or no.

I have booked for 10 tents and breakfast with the pub and need to confirm this with them. Should we get more than 10 tents coming :augie then this is not an issue but need to inform pub ASAP.

I know it is a way off (but it will soon creep up on us) but anymore takers for this event?

Reason for asking is that I will put a posting in the West Midlands section to see if any locals want to camp with us, even though we have one already - Buellzebub.

don't want to lose our cooked breakfasts :thumb

Hi Joe,

Please count me in for the ride and visit to the NMA, camp and breakfast.
I might have my son pillion and my mate Nigel may join us on his 1200 GS.

Cheers,

Richard.

An update for you.
After speaking with the Landlord today it turns out that I was mis-informed when I spoke to one of his staff previously. 'He is useless' I think the words was what the Landlord said. Anyway, I digress.

Prices are in fact :

£8 ptpn (per tent per night - not person)
£6:95 for breakfast

Hope this is OK with everybody.

I know what you are thinking ... why don't we bring one tent that sleeps 10 people, share it out amongst our bikes and hey presto, a very cheap camping experience:thumb

Well done Joe and thanks for sorting this event.

I've had a chat with my mate Nigel and he confirms that he will join us.

Not sure whether my young son will ride pillion with me, he's only been pillion once over a very short distance. I'll take him out on my bike before the event to get some experience and will decide nearer the time. My son will definitely be up for the camping and English breakfast which will give him enthusiasm and motivation!!!

Cheers,

Richard.

Meet at the Oakdene Cafe for a 10:00 start. Arrive earlier should you want something to eat and drink.

Ride up to Staffordshire will be via motorways and will be under 3 hours (160odd miles). There is a petrol station a few yards from the Oakdene but will aim to do a stop about halfway there.

Buellzebub ... if we aim to meet you at the NMA for 12:30-13:00.

Spend a few hours at the NMA and then off to the campsite which is only 12 miles away. Setup camp, relax and then hit the pub and food.

Sunday ... no set time to leave so lets discuss Saturday night. Travel via motorway to Oakdene.

RD. ... any update on whether your son will be coming? Did you manage to test him as pillion over a longer distance yet?

Will post a list of final attendees nearer the time.
