Nav 6 display fading in and out

I have the latest Nav 6 unit after my earlier one was replaced last year due to the ghosting issues. The current unit has the latest maps and software version installed.

On a few occaisons (usually on our annual trip to Europe), there have been instances where the map display will suddenly fade for a few seconds and then recover back to normal brightness. This may happen a few times, and then reverts to completely normal brightness. Over a 2 week period, this happened 3 times. Most days we were travelling for 5-6 hours and covering 180 - 250 miles.

Has anyone else experienced this behaviour?

I can't say I have seen that on my Nav6 - Mine is the latest hardware version I believe.

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll double check, but last time I looked both the cradle pins and the back of the Nav 6 unit are clean

it's worth (carefully) pushing the cradle pins in and out and also using contact cleaner on the back of the GPS unit too.

Apologies for stating the obvious, but mine does exactly that when the light fades or in a shaded area, I suspect it’s the daylight sensor.
