Does anyone know why I cant get it working on the car mount.
It powers up and works fine on the Gsa but once it comes out of the cradle i can't get it to power up at all.
Even out of the mount

Cheers

Get your hands on another car mount and give it a try, sounds like a fault with yours.

What kind of charger do you use in your van?

I use my Nav V on another bike fitted with a Zumo 660 mount without any problems

If your unit is showing a full battery charge it should power up by pressing and holding the round button on the back (Nav 5 anyway). If not the battery could be at fault.

It seems strange however, to work on your GSA but will not power up off the bike AND will not work with the car mount. One heck of a coincidence to have 2 things failing at the same time

Is the BMW nav just a Zumo 660.? Will a 660 fit the standard BM mount on the 1250gs? Or does using a 660 result in the engine death rattles ? Only joking

I used a 660 on my 1200GS before I bought a Nav 5. Worked perfectly although it did not have 'wonder wheel' connectivity

Just like Mike R... I also used my old Garmin 660 on my 1250 till I got got a new Nav 6. Got a car kit for the Nav 6 too, all good so far, no ghosting, only problem I once had with it was repeating same instruction to leave the motorway at next exit over and over again, had to turn it off to shut her up.
I sometimes wish my missus had an on/off button, she never shuts up unless some shit TV soap like Emmeroid Farm is on.

I'll try the battery out of my 660 if it's the same. I just thought if it powered up on the bike it would power up on my 660 mount the same
Cheers

It's not the same.

Plug your Nav 6 into your laptop/PC (With garmin express/basecamp installed), give it a couple of minutes, then disconnect. Then do a HARD RESET of the Nav6

Sometimes a 'sick' Nav perks up after plugging in to your PC
