Nav III plus Vs BMW Zumo

Would you get the Nav III+ now out for a reduced cost of £650 or wait for the Motorrad version of the Zumo 550?

And yes I know there a re-badge with a few extra buttons but that's not the question.

I honestly wouldn't pay BMW for either.

Get a Garmin Zumo 550 and pocket the difference knowing it's a better unit than the BMW badged one

I know that the Nav has a few extras over it's Garmin brother, but is the "new" Zumo going have any extra fun bits?

Take a look at this thread on the Zumo forum, the third post down shows what the BMW version is missing compared with the Garmin one

It seems that BMW is lagging behind on the updates to keep there logo on the screen. Without a UK price is hard to tell what the real difference will be. The all black BMW version looks better IMO but the price will be the cruncher.

You don't think that the reduced cost Nav is worth the extra over a Zumo?

Not having used one I don't really know but it's nearly twice as much as the Zumo. I doubt if it's that much better, if at all

Slightly off topic but have you used the radio traffic thing on the Zumo?

Bought a GTM12 FM TMC traffic receiver to plug into the bike/car craddle. It works in the car and shows where there's accidents, roadworks and slow traffic. Not travelled on a route where it's needed to re-route me because of the hold up yet.

Not tried it on the bike yet, but will when I get a chance
