Nav Rally Sunday 8th June - Mitchlestown

Again, a big thanks to the organisers and their most able assistants, and to GerryC for his off bike agility and a fully working GPS. My congrats to those above us in the points score and to Ed for not using a GPS.

Congrats to yourself and to R2D2.
Ed I didn't realize you scored so high without a GPS . :clap

Well done gents.

Good practice for the next one. :augie

A Big Thanks lads

I'm new to this forum stuff so hope it works for me. Referring to me as assisting in IT is overstating it a bit. I am able to use a few navigation programmes that about it!!!!
A big thanks to Fingers Doucher Willie and the girls for a fantastic day on the bike, its a lot of work to organise it and its all over in a few hours, but i didn't see anyone in the Golden Vale bar dissapointed.
Looking forward to the next Baalbec, I wouldn't change anything about the terrain or the waypoints. I prefer to spend time on the bike than scratching around in the bushes to find a clue. :clap:clap
Dave Roche

My two cents

I thought it was run really well :clap.
As this was my first I didn't know what to expect however I got the impression that it was aimed at trailbikes and in fact it could have been done (but not won) on just about any bike. If you want a bigger turn out maybe you should point out that there's enough fun to be had without leaving the tarmac. For that reason I think the mix was about right and the clues were dead on....... apart from an invisible coke can :o.
And just to repeat myself, :thumb2, can't wait for the next one.

Welcome FatFergie -

I agree with you , fingers and his crew got the checks spot on, and a well ridden road only machine would have come close to the top score ,
but then again that is the reason for adventure / trail bike runs / nav runs , so we can use our machines in the area's they are designed for.
if i had a CBR or GSX there are plenty of runs , so at long last there are simple events to wet our whistle, ps by the way, how did you get the handle of "FATFERGIE" you would hide behind a coke bottle and that transalp is just about perfect for these spins ,

I think there is a spin tomorrow night from Kearys in Cork 06.30 for 0700pm lift off ... dont worry it is not a BMW thing

As has been said before, the day was a huge success, anyone who could have gone but didn't :blast.

I liked the trail and twisty stuff and there was enough of that to put a smile on my face. I wouldn't change a thing, the clues weren't trick questions which was for the best and the spread of points made for very interesting routes. :D

Again thanks for a great day, I won't miss out on the next one either.:thumb2

don't mention the coke

how did you get the handle of "FATFERGIE" you would hide behind a coke can

maybe that's why I couldn't find it! :blast

It's a long story......hang on, it's not.......it used to be FastFergie ...... then I got a transalp. :o Thats one version anyway.

Go to http://www.photobucket.com and create an account, it will be worth your time, then once that's done click the "CHOOSE FILES " in "up-load images" window and navigate to the folder on your PC where your Pics are stored and start up-loading.
When you've the pics you need moved to PhotoBucket underneath each pic you'll see four text boxes, (SEE LARGER PIC BELOW) I normally click the direct link, (you'll see the word "Copied")

Then go back to your "New Post" on UKGSER click "Insert Image" button (SEE SMALLER PIC BELOW) and paste the URL (address) of your PICTURE into the text box that appears after you've clicked the "Insert Image" button.
