Nav v and SD card

Hi,this is probably a dumb question so please bear with me.

I have just bought a new Nav V and been getting used to it after my old 550 no problem.

Going off to Austria and Slovienia shortly and my riding buddy said there won't be any Europe maps pre installed?? And I need to get a mini SD card,register the unit and update maps?

Is this correct please?

My Nav V (bought 1st May) came with European maps, although I did need to update them as they were 2015.10 and the current is 2015.40 so you should be fine. However, BMW do sell a version without maps installed so it depends which one you bought.

I have put the address of out first stop in France in,and it has found that so may be I am ok.

On the Nav click settings, map and vehicle, myMaps and it will show you if the unit has maps installed. They'll look like "CN Europe NTU" and you should see 3; Europe DEM, xxxx.xx 3D and xxxx.xx ALL.
