Its not good for any battery to discharge and my Nav V always gradually discharges when not used for a month. Switching off doesn't help, cos its not fully off and it discharges quickly. Full power down, by holding the on button and selecting 'Turn Off', is massive better, but the unit still discharges. Somewhere I read to disconnect the battery during long periods off but that's an arduous screw driver task. Does yours discharge and do you worry about it :nenau

This is not one of them...

Contact Garmin, you may get a replacement battery or unit.
Or
Contact your seller if it's less than 2 years old.

Same with mine, lasts about a month off bike turned off ,
The battery date code is 2 years older than the unit. ..?

Not had any issues with mine , it's now three yr old , I do keep the bike wired to optimate, so not sure if that helps anything connected to the bike

I have approached Garmin and BMW on this issue for my 2.5 year old Nav V. Garmin have offered a new unit for £116 but refuse to sell me a battery and BMW a new battery for £55. I am not sure I can be bothered.

I have taken the battery out to see if it self discharges,, just to rule it out,, it seems the battery drain may just be a characteristic , had many other zumos no issues, still in warranty as 6months since purchase,
, not sure of the shelf life but the battery is october 2014, bought july 2016,
checking with dealer first, must say garmin have been great in the past,
Roamer,
