Nav V not zooming with BMW wheel

I have previously had an issue where the zoom function using the BMW wheel randomly fixed itself. Now its start again the toggle function of the wheel works but the zoom function doesn't. I've had the sat nav off & on several times with no success, any tips to resolve?

About all you can do, off the bat is:

A. Clean all the contacts carefully.

B. Try another Nav V in the cradle.

The latter might well point you in the direction of knowing whether it’s the device or the wheel.
