Hi ...Just joined , this is my first post

Hope someone can help, just getting ready for decent European trip so thought Id update any maps etc via Garmin Express.

Prior to update when I plugged in the Nav V to computer it would be recognised and come up in top left as "BMW Motorrad Navigator V" and the map detail would load up and you could then plot routes and send to devise successfully.

After update when you plug in Nav V it comes up in top left in greyed out text "Garmin" when you click on it no maps load up

Nav V update version 3.10
Basecamp version 4.4.7
Mac OS 10.10.1

I really wish I did not sync with Garmin Express now !!! Any help anyone can give would be much appreciated

Cheers
Tim

I had a faff on last night as well doing the upgrade, have you tried turning the gps on not connected to the computer? does it do a firmware upgrade then restart? (takes a minute to start this)

it suggests another update in basecamp and then says disconnect and allow to start .. but get no firmware upgrade option when started up. When you plug it in again you get the same suggestion ...... argghhhhh !!

Just plugged in my NavV and Garmin Express installed a small update to the device to get it to 3.10. All works well. No issues.

Do you want to restart your Garmin? Hold the on/off button at the back of the device for a few seconds extra and the system should shut down. Start again the same way - hold the switch for a few seconds until you see the startup screen.

I think the problem may be that Ive changed maps which I didn't mean to do ... anyway to get it back to previous ????

OK think its sorted now saying running on software version 3.10 with Map: Full coverage of Europe (CN Europe NTU 205.40) Does this look right ??

Just been to hell & back with my 390 showing exactly the same issue in Basecamp. Traced it to a crap usb connection on the back of the unit. Fixed it by putting the unit flat on its face and pulling the plug out approx 1-2mm. Basecamp now recognises the unit / serial number as before. I am also now able to update/reinstall the device software using the communicator programme. Like the op, off to Europe on Wednesday.
