Nav V update problem - not enough memory

I am trying to install the latest map update but keep receiving the following message:

"We're unable to install the updates"

"The latest software does not fit on your devices internal memory. Please contact product support for help with updating your software"


The thing is I just got this message yesterday so went out and purchased a 16GB microSD - yet this message still appears. Should the install not automatically just go to the microSD?

Hi. I had exactly the same issue bought a 16gb micro sd card and again the same message about lack of memory space.

I removed the nav 5 from the garmin website completely and then plugged it back in. Garmin recognised the nav 5 and serial numbers then allowed the install.

Try that first as it worked for me
