Nav vi added to a r1250rt tft

Here’s a question
On my 73 plate rt with tft screen I have fitted a bmw cradle to carry my nav 6. I have plugged it into the spare socket plug that has a blanking cap on down near the left fork
This will charge the nav6 but I can’t control it through the jog wheel . There is a solution as I saw it on a bike a few weeks ago that’s why i bought it
Any advice to help me work this would be appreciated
