Is it possible to buy the cradle ( to hold the unit) seperate from dealer? i.e the extra buttons on left side

I cant see why not. They are fitting the cradles to the new LC so they should be purchasable seperately.

Give your local dealer a call in the morning for a price.

Immaterial now, was watching one on eBay (without cradle), but price is getting a little rich for my liking.

Perhaps a NOH 660? some mixed reports about them however

It all works perfectly well - I put the NAV4 cradle on my GS last year, plugs into the socket under the headstock, and the 660 fits in nicely and does pretty much what you'd expect. It costs about 80 quid.

The Nav IV cradle will power a Zumo 600 but that's all. The hard buttons on the side of cradle don't do anything.
