Just bought the new nav 4 fore my new bike, and have problems, have updateded the maps og and new firmware ok.
Tried it on the bike and it workd ok with the thumbs wheel.

But in the poi folder ther is no ferry terminals,is there a forum or site where you can download pois for the bmw nav 4

I bought a 16gb micro SD card, for the unit, but the "gate" to put it is closed with a plastic tab,you can not use a micro sd card on the unit, apart from the one installed approx 4gb.

compaird with TT I think the nav 4 is a piece of shit,to complicated and cumberson.
I probably throw it out the window or better run it over with my car.

I have the nav IV and have installed a 16gb card, so it will go in:rob

Have a google search for free pois, I forget the name, but there are quite a few out there:thumb

You have looked in the battery compartment for the SD slot? Lift out the battery and you'll find it on the inside edge, nearest the centreline of the device. of the compartment face.

As to ferry terminals, just tried a search for Dover and my Zumo 660 can only find the port of Dover which isn't the ferry terminal. The same process found the ferry terminals on the French side of the channel however. Guess UK ferry terminals are absent then.

There should be a custom POI file out there somewhere, on my phone ATM so not going to try searching for you, soz.

As to Garmin vs. TT, that's a matter of personal taste. Pros and cons to both but the PC planning for Garmin trumps it for me. Yes, I know all about TYRE and ITN Converter but Mapsource/Basecamp are in a different league. Complex, yes, but once you get familiar they work very well.

Yes I have looked in the battery compartment, the slot is closed with a plastic tab,my nav 4 is the new one made for useing the wheel
it says on the cover: for mc with factory prinstalled navigation mount
in the booklet it says that there is a preinstalled micro sd card.
I might be able to install a new card if I use a screwdriver and open the slot.
Have tried Bascamp its useless for me.Tried it with the unit hooked up to the computer, did find what I wanted (altona Bahnhof in Hamburg) for the train to Narbonne, when trying to make a route it only showes straith lines on the map, when there is at least 4 major rodes and ferries to choose from:confused:
on TT you download the ferries and all the railway stations in germany/Austria/italy in one poi for each country.

Iam :D sorry about my mistake on the sd card ,have changed to the 16gb,had to use a screwdriver(smal one) impossible to get my fat fingers down in the hole.
Have on question ,when I start the Garmin express and check my unit it says 1.5gb free of the 3.9gb installed?
How can I get the unit to see the 16gb card?
I did format the card on the PC before installing (fat32)
