Hi. I have a Zumo660 on my 2015WC and am toying with the Nav5 for the greater functionality it offers with the bike. I have looked at the Zumo590 and the Tom Tom Rider 400 and both seem to be a few steps ahead of the Nav5 in terms of the way (for example) you can ask the unit to find a nice twisty route between two places.

My questions are:

  • Can this be done on the Nav5 and I have missed it?
  • Is there any news about whether there is a Nav6 in the offing that will be a combination of the Nav5 and Zumo590?

Thanks in advance

Regards, Paul

The Nav V has a windy roads option.

Use it with care. Why?

1. It may well interpret roundabouts as windy curves, which indeed they are.

2. It may well interpret towns and cities' left / right turns as twists in an otherwise straight route, which indeed they are.

3. If you set your device to windy roads (and then forget that you've done so) and you then import a route from someone else, your device may well alter the route to match your requirement to always travel between A to D via B and C via windy roads. Annoying for you and probably very annoying for everyone else travelling with you.

PS UKGSer has a very good GPS section, use it. This is the 1200 WC section, where advice on what gloves to wear to complete 'The look' lives. Can't navigate to it? It's here: http://www.ukgser.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/46-GPS-Info

Thanks to both for your replies. Your comment Wapping about where to post this is a fair one but the rudeness with which you do so is unnecessary and pathetic.

Calm down

Chill Paul, I'm sure (positive!!!) Wapping meant nothing 'pathetic' about his reply.
Read a few posts before you 'go off on one'. You'll enjoy it more if you do.

Else you will get the :popcorn

That was a nice and helpful response wait until you annoy him! Enjoy the forum mate there's tons of great info on here.

Take it with a pinch of salt Paul, great forum with plenty of help and info:type when you need it. There are a few TOSSERS on here though :jes:yelrotflm

So, does anyone know when the Nav 6 will be released?

Keep your 660, do the winding roads yourself, use Mapsource or Basecamp for better results.
