Navigator II mapping problems ~

After a bit of a delay I finally got the update code from Garmin for the 2009 mapping dvd. Installed it and sent the maps from Mapsource to the unit. I had (apparently) high hopes. First test:- type in my address, postcode first, street name first, town first... no way will it find my home address. I live on an ordinary street in an ordinary town. What the hell is going on..?

Have you tried other postcodes?

Yes... a few work and lots don't.

My street has been here for a hundred years, how can it not be on a new map..?

I'm baffled

The Hanger Lane Gyratory System does not appear on the latest version! Must be one of the biggest road intersections in the UK - North Circular Road meets A40, meets South Circular Road. Very odd.

Truly bizarre... what are Garmin up to
