Navigator V not powering up on bike.

Looking through here I can't find an answer. My Nav V wouldn't power up in the cradle, I found a fix on the Garmin website where you remove the battery and plug it into your computer and reconnect the battery. Bingo it worked I shut it down with the prompt then removed it from the bike, when I tried to use it again on the bike i get the same problem. Is it my battery it's only 2 1/2 years old.

Try charging overnight with a mains charger to kickstart the battery.
Make sure it's not left in sleep mode on or off the bike by depressing the power button till you get a prompt to shut it down.
