Nearly sold my 4K mile airhead GS

Had someone call last week and mention they're looking for an airhead. To which i found myself replying "i have an old airhead GS i might sell if your interested, it's only done 4400 miles, i'll need to get it MOT'd as run out last month".

So off to the MOT man, who was amused it had only done 16 miles since the last mot in june last year. I told him i'm possibly selling it, and he offered me what i wanted there and then I said i'd bare it in mind but the other bloke asked first.
Anyway i taxed the bike and the potential buyer came around yesterday, he really wants a GS basic so i explained he really should buy a basic if that's what he wants and so he didn't end up buying it, which pleased me as i didn't really in my heart of hearts want to sell it
Today i told the mot man i'd changed my mind and then had an afternoon pottering round on it and remembered what a lovely bike it is. Now done 4540 miles.
I really must ride it more..... The trouble is i doubt if there is a lower mileage airhead GS anywhere in the world .

I had one of those from new, did 25,000 in 18 months before I traded it in for a KLX650

Had a similar pair of gloves too... Furygan "Westerns"

Deceptively fast and comfy way to do miles.

Those are reindeer skin gloves, soft as a babys bottom, but 10 times as tough.

The only gloves to wear while riding airheads, guzzis and harleys.

Wheeled my '89 bumble out today.... wtf, it fired first time, chugged on tick-over, I got on-board and the smiles came out.
Fecking love it........
Ain't got those gloves though..... but I am thinking of a Davida pisspot lid for my birthday...... custom painted of course!

There are a few VERY low mileage GS around, but thin on the ground. Trouble is, once you get a GS, they're so much fun, that you put on the miles without realising.
I've put 15 K miles on mine in about 14 months, and there'll be more going on it after a summer trip

It hasn't been washed in over ten years. No really, it hasn't. Just an old blanket thrown over it in the back of the garage

Sorry - small hijack (but in my defence gloves have been mentioned ).
Anyone have any recommendations as to where's the best place to buy Aerostitch Ropers (or similar style / quality gloves like those being talked about in this thread) in the UK? Ideally somewhere that'll allow returns as I've got hands like shovels and long fingers - getting gloves that fit isn't always easy. I've wanted some for ages but never seen any in a shop to try.

I bought my deer skin gloves in a harley shop
I do also have a pair of aerostich ropers, but they aren't as comfy as my deerskin because the ropers need a lot of wearing in as they are so thick. Also, beware of the black ropers, the dye runs if they get wet or your hands get sweaty ...........

Richc bought my aerostitch ropers back from the states with him. I think they were £25. Fantastic gloves though they look a hundred years old now. I wear them all year round.
