Might go along for the last weekend to see /try / buy a XCR tri laminate suit such as the HG Master V or Dane or Rukka.

Suits that have the waterproof outer instead of a liner.

Long shot this but has anyone spotted much of this type there?

Anything new?

nope

It was pants, frank thomas, rukka(how much)dainese, alpinestars, were the best i could find.
im looking at a weise,(good review in ride) or a held suit £350 ish jacket and strides, which has a good review from a chum.
There are more brands out there, but didnt go much on the range at the nec.
George white has a rukka jacket reduced from 499 down to £299, but no strides to match:confused:

not much at the NEC this year..........I'd stick to internet research and go to your local bike shops.

Not looking good then:eek

There is an HG shop near me but no other stockists of such suits.:tears

You wont find HG at the NEC, well I didnt anyway. Halvarssons are there but you cant try on the gear nor can you buy it there - you can only look at it. Same with BMW gear......Rukka you can try on and I think buy there but you'd be better off going to a HG store and somewhere like infinity.

Make sure you try on first if buying from internet. I made a point of trying on first in a shop before buying on the internet....for example I discovered that the HG fit isn't great on me whereas the Rukka cut is perfect for my shape and fits much better.

The Rev'it Cayenne Pro was on sale at the stand with lots of Rev'it stuff.

NOt XCR laminate but it looks nice :D

I've tried on the HG Master V and the BMW one. didn't like the BM, it felt stiff, short and the back protector didn't come low down.

The only others I know of are the Rukka and Dane but never seen them.

The Rukka sounds a lot of money for a suit although I'd be interested in seeing why:eek:

As much as I'd like to support my local shops, they've got next to nothing by way of kit. That's why I'm going to the show to have a look at stuff I wouldn't otherwise get to see.
And if certain suppliers aren't allowing potential customers try kit on then they aren't getting any of my money. What a stupid way to do business. :tosser

well its like this

Tried the Nec and now im off to the excel for the london show.
The held one i spoke of earlier, i now found its only waterproof with the waterproof liner, so if you want to stay dry in the summer you have to sweat to death in the heat of the liner in the jacket.
ive yet to try the weise, the local dealer is going to get one in.
if that fails its a rukka from the nec, thinking about it, its the same price as decent set of panniers, its only money,, you cant take it with you.
at least its got a bomb proof warranty, and thats worth 800 quid for five years sevice.,about £160 year to stay warm dry and protected.

I've done the Bike Show for the last 10 years and its getting worse IMHO.

There's the odd decent discount here and there especially if you go towards the end but the internet is better and cheaper in most cases.

I was there on Friday. There's a stand selling Rukka and Halvarssons although I don't think you'd get much discount. If you're going towards the end of the show though.......take a large wad,you never know. I eventually managed to find a half price A-Stars offroad jacket, got a bit more knocked off for cash and a free t-shirt thrown in.
TBH though, most of the discounted clothing and helmets............crap.
Have fun.:)

Can recommend the HG Cruise II GTX jacket and leggings, I reckon you'll still end up paying best part of £550 though. As a Yorkshireman once told me "Buy Cheap, pay twice"

As a NEC show virgin, what's the etiquette regarding buying stuff?

Are credit cards widely accepted?
Should I also take my chequebook?
Am I wasting my time fishing for a bargain unless I've got a handful of folding?
:nenau

nec

went on friday, had my wish list with me some I had tried on locally and some on price/description off tinternet.got a wolf jacket 3/4 length waterproof £160 locally, £120 from george white and rst textile/leather trousers again tried on locally at £115 Bought for £50 so £170 paid for what locally was £275 I REALLY was not expexting that .As others say there are some bits but you have to seek them out:

beerjug:Brian...

Went to the NEC and managed to get a Rukka Marco jacket from George White's for £280 and Infinity had a selection of discounted Rukka trousers.

Al, plastic or cash should be fine.

Cheers Tom

Went on Friday and not much in the way of discounts. Away from clothing I found stands with special offers on Zumo660 satnav had "discounted" prices that were rather more than Amazon and what I paid in a retail shop recently!!

Amazed to find Touratech actually selling stuff rather than just dishing out huge catalogue - and giving discount on brackets. Alos Baglux offering better prices plus free delivery on orders if requirement not available on stand
