So we all know the roads can be a mighty dangerous place. I was looking round the interweb and noticed neck braces. After watching a few videos and doing a bit of reading they seem to be a great job.

However they mainly seem to be aimed at track days / motor road riders etc. not really so much for the road.

I always wear a Forcefield back protector and was wondering if anyone has any experience with a neck brace whilst on the road?

What are you opinion? Any good? How restrictive are they? Good points v Bad points?

I rarely if ever see them being used by guys and girls on the road so was wondering if not why not? Or is it a case of they are just not cool enough?

Cheers.

I wear one when greenlaneing - but that's because I own one from back when I use to make the effort to do a few rallies.

When on you don't notice it except when you see your reflection and you then think Orange neck brace, blue BMW twat suit, standing on a shell forecourt and not some special stage - knob :D

I did for about 18 months. It was fine once I got used to it. The downside was it's yet another piece of kit to deal with/store securely when touring. I now have an airbag vest which includes a collar which fulfills the same purpose.

I like the idea of the airbag vests as well, wasn't aware they had a collar feature too.

Not sure if the all do, but the Hit-Air ones my partner and I wear have them.
