Gents,
I need a massive favour....

Some may have seen the post in the 'vendors' section about the wife starting on her own doing dressmaking etc.

She's going to have a go at some top box/pannier bags for the aluminium and vario luggage.

Fabric looks like it will be ripstop and I will keep you all updated accordingly.

The favour.....I need to borrow a set of bags (both luggage types) so she can get the dimensions etc.

Would only need for a few hours and I'll gladly collect around the Derbyshire/surrounding area. Will leave a deposit or my 23 year old daughter for a few hours...lol

Thanks gents...

Mate ain't got the bags but you can gladly borrow the panniers and top box of my varios

I've got a GSA now with the BMW alloy boxes which I can gladly accurately measure for you

Interesting.

I was thinking of offering my set of Varios as I'd be in Uttoxeter area
from Saturday, but you don't need them. Just wondering if you'd
considered making a set of bags out of Ortlieb type material,
waterproof etc, not much of an issue with the Alu boxes but the Varios..

I've been looking for a set ... and don't have the skills to make them
:tears

Just a thought. Good luck.

Keep an eye on the vendors section...

When she's sussed the sizes out I'll post a few piccies and see what interest it generates

Cheers mate...

Cheers Steptoe, I'll give 'em a try.

I've used similar things with mixed results, I'm a bit tough on bags
and seem to end up "rippin' them" to bits. I spend my time living
out of my panniers for work/hotel/work etc . That's why I was
searching for an Ortlieb type material solution bit tougher and
shaped to panniers, would be good, black smart, handles, so carrying
into hotel would help reduce the wtf? look from reception :) (Only an
issue in the UK ?!). I've carried the panniers into hotels and man they
don't like that if they are covered in "road stuff". I presently use an
Ortlieb bag(s) but stuffing it into the pannier(s) uses up pannier space.

IssacHunt I'll keep an eye out. Good luck again.

Cheers

I've got a pattern set of Vario pannier and topbox bags, can't remember the make but they fit just fine. They are the expanding type and your welcome to borrow them. I don't need them until August bank holiday weekend.

PM me if you are interested

Tom
