Hi all,
As the title says, can anyone provide information on the pin-outs for the LED light cluster?
My goal is to splice an extra wire into the main-beam 12V+ line, using it to power a relay so I can slave additional spot lights to the main beam.
There are five wires leading to the LED cluster multi-plug. As per previous-generation bikes, there are heavier-gauge white (to terminal 6), yellow (to terminal 4) and brown (to terminal 1) wires. But there are also two lighter-gauge wires: white with blue tracer (to terminal 3) and violet (to terminal 5).
Except for the brown wire, which has continuity with earth , two of the other wires have a constant 12.2V and one of the others, a constant 9.5V when the ignition is on. These voltages stay the same no matter whether DRL is at full or half-brightness, or whether dipped and main beams are on or off.
I suspect the lighter-gauge wires might be LINBUS or CANBUS outputs, leading to a control unit inside the light cluster. Can anyone confirm this?
