Working away from home at the moment , using the 1150 to get back and fore . This morning it spat its dummy! Warmed it up about 300 mts from my digs started cutting , rev counter bouncing about then a big backfire , cleared and ran fine then about 2 miles further same but would not restart .

Engine would spin over but thats all , but noticed a chattering from behind the air-box and could feel it if I put my hand on the fuel line . Also could here the fuel pump what I think was priming as it does when you turn the ignition on .

Looked at the fuses and for no other reason than I swopped the two 7.5 a fuses and tried it and it started . The only other thing i did was take the k&n filter out .

Have to ride home tonight down the m4 so any one with any suggestions as to what may have caused this ?

Sounds to me like the fuel pipe inside the tank may have split.

Thats interesting, the fuel filter was changed a few weeks back so they may have disturbed something.

The erratic rev counter is often associated with the HES module failing.
Has happened to me twice and the 2nd time I'd diagnosed it even before I stopped rolling...👍😆

Well really strange but seems to be sorted . Ran it from work to reading all fine . Still with no air filter into sports bike shop to check my k&n against another .

Turns out the one i had is 4mm longer hence a pig to get in . Popped the new one in back to starting on the button and a hour odd ride back to london no issues .

So not a clue what went on, my only theory was the oversize filter was fouling the sensor at the top of the air box and somehow doing strange things !!!!!

That would be very lucky and good luck as it had many of the hallmarks of HES failure...

So, just done a bit of reading, it could be the hes playing up . So going to swop it out as a precaution.
