Hope someone can point me in the right direction.
I need to replace the clutch on my 1100GS, I've searched the forum for guides on how to do this and have come across a few that give help in some areas.
Do any of you know if there is a 'how to replace your clutch' guide anywhere that is start to finish!
Also, what else apart from the clutch kit am I likely to need? from what I've read so far the exhaust silencer clamp is likely to be toast as it's probably corroded- any thing else?
I'm planning to get the job completed in 1-2 days, if the kids leave me in peace!

I'm tempted to ask how you know its the clutch. I suggest you read the threads on correct clutch adjustment before you dive .

You might want to change the gear indicator sender/neutral switch. I didn't on mine, and it went belly up about a week after reassembly.

Check it's adjusted at the locknut (clutch end) first. Once that's right, set handlebar end, then try again. If it all works, great, saved yourself a fortune. If it doesn't, you've only confirmed what you suspect.

+1
its a bit of a fiddle but well worth the effort

Thanks Pekkavee, plenty of reading there!
I have checked the adjustment at the clutch end/locknut etc and there is sufficient freeplay.
The clutch most obviously slips in 4th and 5th when power is applied quickly - making quick overtakes rather unpleasant!
No slip when pulling away in 1st or much of lower gears. The bike has done 71k miles so I'm just putting two and two together!
I'm pretty mechanically compitent so not too worried but like to be prepared.
I continue to welcome any other tips!!

Just pretty much a notice that clutch disc is worn out.

Change it. It doesn't cost so much and now you know how to do it.
You can do it. It takes 12 hours for the beginner.
