Irrespective of the brand of tyre fitted to my 1150GS, the bike tracks true, nary a wobble, completely confidence inspiring.
My 1200 came with Anakees, which were my tyre of choice on the 1150, but the new bike felt "nervous", and a bit "twitchy" in comparison. I replaced the original rear with a Tourance, and when the front wore out it was replaced with a Pilot Road, which improved the "nervousness' somewhat. The biggest improvement came when I replaced the worn-out rear Tourance with a matching Pilot Road ; the bike is now considerably "tidier", with very little twitchiness. It's a noticeable improvement, the 1200 now feels very nearly as stable as the heavy old 1150. The Pilot Roads grip like the proverbial ! :thumb2

My 12 came with anakees which I thought felt loose and twitchy- the first time we went out in the wet we had a scary slide which put me off them even more so I'm thinking of getting Tourances instead...
They don't feel good in the dry and horrible in the wet.

Interesting to read your comments guys, I`m on my 3rd set of Anakees and I love them.
I go off roading, commuting and lots of motorway, wet and dry conditions and find them very confidence inspiring.

Goes to show how different we all are.:)

Have to agree that the Anakees are my favourite.
Have Tourances on the Adv at the moment, but the old one had Anakees and I felt more confident in the dry and especially in the wet where they stuck like leeches and were very predictable.

If the bike is vague up front, I find dropping the suspension 1 click on the front shock and even rolling the bars forward a bit makes a huge difference in frint end feel.

I'm still on my original fitment anakees and really can't fault them whatever the conditions, came from a ZX10r and much more confident in the 12's front end, knee down confidence with the anakees :thumb , the lack of dive from the front end took some getting used to though :augie

Hmm... strange. I'll have to check the front suspension- I have no idea what it's set on...muppet me...
But I doubt that will make a load of difference as when we had the big two wheel slide we were two up with loads of camping gear and the second scare was solo.(the bike was fine, slid then shook a wee bit and then just carried on, I love my GS:thumb - it was just the driver who bricked it..)
The only thing that's different from the 1150 with Tourances is that the 1200 seems about 20mph faster everywhere....

I've run about 10 pairs of tourances in the last 5 years and never had a problem. I decided to have a change this year and went to distanzia's. Boy what a mistake, or so I thought.

I was having difficulty with slow speed corners and the bike felt crap and twitchy. After a couple of weeks of this I decided to drop the front preload down 1 notch, and bingo.
Completely different, slow speed corners are so much easier and crisper handling thoughout

I've got anakees on mine too, and I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of them. I've had the rear slip out on slow corners, and I don't get much confidence from them generally. That said they seem to last a while for the amount of grip they do give, and do look cool on the bike :o . I've not really messed about with the suspension much either, maybe that's my problem after all.

I had a puncture in the rear about 2 months ago, and just got the same again, I really wanted to try some tourances but forgot to ask, oh well. I think the issue is that these tyres are always gonna be a compromise, and for myself at least, the only real solution would be to have 2 sets of wheels depending on what I'm doing at the time :D If only!
