Winjar I never heared about Denzo but I bought the Tractive shocks from Holland which are also sold under the Touratech brand name with different looking anodizing for roughly 15% more...I still have not mounted them but they better be good for almost 4 grand...But if Stick runs them I feel confident Stock shocks are not bad but I like the suspension to be stiffer and the shock dampening to be smoother with more motorcycle specific valves than the stock units...Also get the adjustable steering dampener from Holland that is made by Hyperpro and also sold under the TT and Yacugar name...Expensive but hopefully worth it but I will run this bike another 2 + years until the all new R1300GS has been out for a year

I think you have it wrong. OEM shock will stay OEM. He doesn't do any tractive shit on it but he does improve the shock with a couple of simple upgrades.

There is a thread on here where he explains just that. So, with a bit of imagination and a few key words you can find that thread.

The tractive shocks are completely different from the OEM in construction. They have addressed the weaknesses of the OEM shocks and use generally better components.

They better be better as expen$$$ive as they are ! I guess the main reason to upgrade are the electronic valves that work much faster and thus give more compliance even if you run stiffer springs and for guys who acually ride the bike in the dirt (which I don't) better oil seal and better cooling and of course stiffer springs if needed...

I try to explain Denzo cheaper than doing tractive upgrade, but lost in my bad English, and sorry I do not know better, but I do not have cash for Touratech. but would be nice.

Back to the question, did balancing the rear eliminate the issue?

Also, I did not see any mention (may have just missed it) of the seating of the tyres. It's easy for them to be fitted with high spots which can cause theses symptoms.

I've not been able to ride it sadly as I got tagged by Track and Trace. Also the dealer is being very evasive about the damage

Ooo feel a name and shame coming along nicely.
They are a dealer so they should admit to the damage and take it on the chin , they were last to deal with the wheel and the damage was caused by bad fitting . It a bad show for me that they cannot see this and evade the liability. Good luck and hope your okay .

Use time to call recovery bike not safe to ride, and then give hell on phone and email to BMW boss

Thanks Stick, I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt (for now) during my 18 months of owning this bike the only real positive has been them and the exemplary service they've provided thus far, although they did damage the paint on the frame but that was resolved swiftly.

It's just over a week since I notified them of the damage so I'll give it until the end of the week. I know one of the Sales people there so if I hear nothing I might get them to give a nudge for me.

Dealer have finally responded and have agreed to replace the front wheel as a gesture of good will although they do not accept that they damaged it. Either way it's being dealt with so thats great.

RESULT and fair play to them , but I still feel they knew or could see that the damage was done by workshop tools as its a gouge , and you never mentioned kerbing the wheel , and no relative marks on the tyre to show a bump , and also its position.

Took the bike out yesterday and the high speed wobble is gone. Didn't get to chuck it around much but the front end felt stable as anything. Thanks all!

So was tyre or bent wheel.
