Have just configured my daughters computer (win 2000 professional) - complete rebuild. The system works fine when I'm logged on as administrator, but when I logon as a user, I can only get the internet. The local workgroup is not accessable and I can't get msn to work. I'm not so bothered about msn, but I don't understand why when logged in as admin it's ok and not as a user. I have a shared network drive that is open to all - no restrictions / logons required to access it, but I can not see it, let alone connect to it. Any ideas?

rights and permissions !

Step 1:-
Log on as admin, go to rights and permissions of Admin group and add the user into that group so that the user has the same priviledges as admin.

take it from there for the next step in troubleshooting
