There's more to them than meets the eye I think. DAMHIK!
 
Pity he still bolts them to the sump - IMHO it sort of defeats the purpose, as any impact is transferred back to the sump, rather than deflected from it.

Nice looking bit of kit though, more cosmetic than practical, and not cheap, and it ties you into the original shallow unfinned sump which means you will need the oil cooler-------.
