New ‘big TFT screen’ 1600 - Phone cubbyhole thing

However, I am on the look out for a 'flat' cable USB C male to USB A female cable (like a ribbon type) so that I can take the power from the bike Cubby, with lid closed and then down behind the screen.
Will be a lot tidier. So far no luck.

How about a flat (ribbon) C to C, but then add a C to A converter to the tail end?

:beerjug:

Just as a follow up -
That’s how I sorted the power feed for my quad lock.

a flat (ribbon) C to C, but then add a C to A converter to the tail end

It all works and doesn’t flap about.
The cubby is now never opened.
And cost less than a tenner to sort.

This solution has failed in the hot weather (35+)
The combination of power hungry app, wireless charging heat the blazing sun causes the phone and app to lockup and disconnect. .
It will however continue again just fine as soon as it cools down.

I can’t get the dedicated phone I use into the stupidly small cubby to charge even though the fan in there is almost permanently running for cooling.

It’s stuffed into a pocket now with no case and a standard charging lead BUT that means the moment the phone screen detects ‘contact’ it all goes to shit as the BMW app must be running front and centre with phone unlocked.

I thought finally all was well the other day - now I am back to thinking…….It’s a stupid fucking system.
🤦

Same nonsense with my CE04 from 2024. Something on the bike drops Bluetooth and WiFi about 3 mins after setting off, so the app sits there waiting for permission to rejoin the bikes wifi. It’s definitely something in the bike as the music glitches at the same time as the navigation disappears. It sometimes works on a return journey if the bike has been used for 30 mins or so. Also iPhone max +case +cable is just about too long for cubby. Guess what they’ve done for ‘26 model year? Put the navigation back into the tft module, an admission that connected ride is just a big fat mistake.
