New 1150 GSA. Question to 1150 GSA experts

Hello all,

I have just upgraded from F650GS to a 1150 GSA and can't wait to test it (touring at least). There is just one thing bothering me - the bike came with what I understand to be a standard height black seat (photos attached) and I like the high grey/red one much better. What do you think my options are? I heard some people reshape and recover their seats for as little as £80? Is it possible to find someone who would like a swap? Or is the best option to look for a second hand one? I checked the internet for new ones, but could not find anything and I imagine I would not like the price either.

With the bike I also got a set of lower springs (I think they are progressive Hyperpro 30mm lowering kit) which is no good for me as I am over 6ft and I might be selling that soon if anyone is interested?

New stock GSA seats are about £236 from a BMW Dealer (before any discount), however I think the Grey/Red one is unavailable now

Why not post a WANTED add in the for sale and wanted section? Someone will have a normal height seat lying in there garage

I wouldn't be too hasty, try the low seat for a while, it's a big step change from a 650 to the 1150. Looks like a nice clean bike too, good luck.

Thanks Silverlining, yes, it looks very good, even the engine and the forks are corrosion free! The last bit missing is the nice red/grey seat

I have been craving for a taller bike for a while and also tried friend's 1150gsa with the high seat and really liked the height. Long legs are good but not when it comes to choosing a bike I guess

I will try my luck in the "wanted" section as suggested.
