isn't it 800cc and also chain drive?

I was waiting so long to see what the varadero replacement would be like. My fears were that it would be heavy, ugly, and have a chain drive.

I don't know what I was worrying about:blast

Right........

There's the CrossRunner..... 800cc (The old VFR VTEC, chain drive, in new bodywork and high bars)

There's the CrossTourer.... 1200cc (Using the new VFR1200 engine and shaft drive)

The CrossRunner is confirmed

The CrossTourer is still concept

Hopefully thats the confusion done with...:augie:augie:augie

I think that they look okay and will be more than capable of what most folk on here use them for. How many people take their 1150/1200 off road.... only a handful. I used to tae my R850GS off road but it was too heavy and you couldn't really enjoy it as much as on a 250/400. I like the new triumph (actually ordered a 800XC:augie) but really looking forward to the 1200 a year or so down the line. If the Honda 1200 has a V4 engine thats anywhere near as flexible as the Pan Euro engine then I would be sorely tempted as I recon it would be the ideal bike.

I really want to like the Triumph as its British and I really begrudge sending all my hard earned abroad and looking at the 800XC it looks a cracker;)

I do like the look of the crosstourer, except that it looks like it'll cost a fortune if you send it down the road:blast

Not here please

Well, whatever it is and whatever you think of it it is NOT a 1200 GS so it shouldn't be here......................should it?

well we are the cognoscenti arn't we?

I think a lot of us are ex honda riders who went in search of "more" and bought Bmw because we thought they were better quality maybe or just performed better,latest/best toy on market whatever.

Its a fact for me that Honda still carry a certain Panache so I could be swayed, but it would have to ride mega.

I'll second that :thumb2 I came from a VFR VTEC in May and much as I love the GS the build quality is nothing like the VFR. If Honda made an equivilent, especially with the bomb proof V4 engine I loved I'd have to seriously consider it when this one's due for replacement.

Bye the bye, I'm an ex Honda rider.

XL1000V - recovered/broke down 8 times in 6 years/60k. Almost no corrosion. Serviced every 4000 miles. 40mpg.

R1200GS - recovered/broke down 0 times in 2 years/20k. Almost no corrosion. Serviced every 6000 miles. 50mpg.

Can't honestly say I'm less than delighted with both but all this 'legendary Honda quality' does take a bit of swallowing to be honest.
