New Action Camera?

I keep looking at various cameras and can't work out how you actually aim the damn things?
Would be pretty pissed if I'd been filming for a couple of hours around some great road only to get home with 2 hours 1080HD of some fecking seagulls!

I have had similar thoughts on this... which is why I ask about this one - seems that they have a WiFi attachment which enables you to connect it to your phone and I guess use that as a 'Viewfinder' of sorts?

Also think that due to the wide angle on the lens, if you have it kind of pointing in the right direction you should be ok.

The Ion air pro WiFi looks like the answer to your prayers

very wide angle lens on the gopro means your comment "if you have it kind of pointing in the right direction you should be ok" isn't to far from the truth.

wifi back for the gopro is out anytime now too.

Great image quality but...

You have to assume that the built in mic will slaughter the audio once it gets up to speed and there appears to be no input for an external audio source.

red1 i've got a mini dvr set up from dogcam which gives excellent results, you can see exactly what u r shooting as the cam attaches to a small digital recorder with a screen. The recorder is'nt waterproof but the cam is, i put my recorder in the clear pocket of my tank bag to see what i'm filming. It also comes with a remote button so you can stop and start filming on the move, battery life on my recent trip was around 3 1/2 hours of actual filming, you can charge from the bike so effectively you are only limited by the size of the memory card. The only downside is the remote goes into the same socket as the charger so it's one or the other

Don't think it makes any difference between the brands anymore, they all do much of a muchness... it comes down to look and feel, and what you intend to do with it.

seems a good price and easy to use so.

Tried a few and love my GoPro. No problem aiming. Just took some test shots and once I found the best angle put some small scratches on the mountings so it can be repeated.

Sound is great with the vented back fitted.

Hi all,

You guys might like to look at the deal I'm doing on our new action camera with integral screen. Smaller than the gopro and will fit onto standard camera thread mounts or your helmet. In fact we include a free helmet mount along with the ones that come with the CamOne.

I agree, the Gopro is a great camera and the CamOne is a serious competitor to it.

Regards, Colin

Maplins in on the game too...

Just had a email from them with this in it...

Now the chinese are making go-pro copies :blast

It might be ok though, and it's certainly not expensive.

Following on from last night at the 3 bar stools, ..have spoken already with Dr Bob regarding windscreen ball for mounting a camera onto front of a 12GS/12GSA and he reckons he may have already have done it, but shall check.

Hardly a surprise as the Chinese also make the GoPro. Looked at Maplin spec though and it shows, as with many of these cameras, 30/60 frames per sec. GoPro issued a software update a year or so back making it possible to choose 25/50 which fits UK standards. Looks interesting though as it includes many of the bits that cost extra with GoPro

try dropping bowser a pm he has one ram mounted to his screen

sshhhh... its work in progress on his 1100GS, but results are good.. we're looking at tweaking a ball for the 12GS/GSA screen. Sometime's we really do attempt serious topics when we're at the 3 bar stools :D

I worked out a baccy tin holder mount for Sir Bowser as well.
