I was riding through Dorking yesterday and had to do a double take, there was a big Touratech sign outside a small retail unit.

I turned round and went in and was told they have just recently opened up, they have a workshop, show room and some really nice Adventure gear on show, Klim, Kreiga, Uvex lids and apparently they are an agent for Touratech too so you can order stuff and collect it from there or have it fitted as this is one of their services - there is a Triple Black 1200 GS which they will be kitting out with all the TT extras, similar to the one in the Vines showroom in Guildford and the full range of Huskys (off-raod, BMW owned) Husqvarna Motorbikes

They will be offering off-road guided rides of all the byways that surround Dorking / Leatherhead / Effingham / Abinger in Surrey, off-road courses eventually, and they also have off-road Husky demo bikes.

Really nice welcome and hopefully a good find - they are having an open day on Saturday 9th April with a chance to win an off-road trip in Spain.

Ascari Adventure Shop will be exhibiting in Hastings on May 2nd as part of the new bike1066 Spring Opener motorcycle show that has been set up to welcome the 20,000 bikers who already visit Hastings on May Day.

I have a vested interest in that the evnt is organised by my company in association with Hastings Borough Council.

Hope to see BMW and particularly GSers better represented there than in the past.

Tulley that is why Hastings Borough Council, Sussex Police and many other agencies and concerns including Hastings Cahmber of Commerce have decided to do something to try to tidy the event up.

This year is only the start and we hope to move forward in coming years with road closures and a much more organised situation. That's why a small start is to offer dedicated parking to some clubs away from the mayhem of Pelham Place Car Park. For the first time ever the local HOG Chapter will have a presence for example.

Appreciate you might not want to come down on the day but you may feel able to support us on the 29th May when we will have the only motorcycle film festival in Europe bike1066FILMFEST in support of Help For Heroes. There would be something wonderfully ironic about lotsa BMW riders turning out for the Great Escape - the famously Jerries on Triumphs movie.

Re: Hastings May Day.
I know some bikers and trikers who attend the event annually and hopefully I'll meet some of them there when I ride down with my son (pillion) loaded with luggage directly from Nomad Biker Kent Camp Weekend.
Could do with someone to mind my bike and kit (tent, sleeping bags etc) while we go to buy a drink.
Great event but it slightly tarnished by the traffic congestion and the occasional idiotic biker who rides and acts like a arse.
As an aside, not every "Sports Bike Rider" is an arse or a "F**k-Wit", this can and does occur in all walks of life regardless of the type of transportation used, however it does seem that there are numerous arses and F**k-Wits who ride Sports Bikes.

I'm originally from Sidlesham (just off Selsey Road), and often visit my parents, I've seen a couple of GSers on the Manhood Peninsula, which one are you..? what colour bike etc.....

Popped in this morning on my way to Newlands for a cup and a bacon role. Nice little set up with friendly welcoming staff and the offer of tea/coffee and a few goods to tempt you. Signed up for their planned off road events - though I'm not quite sure what's involved :ague

Re: Nodding bikers - This is a courteous acknowledgment to another fellow biker and has been for decades.
Sport Bike riders / Boy Racers usually still nod at Tossers so I wouldn't get overly concerned about it, they nod at me and I'm a complete and utter Tosser!!!

Joking aside, I ride a 2010 graphite grey / silver GSA, usually with full luggage with 3M reflective tape. Sometimes either of my sons rides pillion, usually my youngest and occasionally I ride with a mate who rides a 2008 GS of the same colour but opposite panels.

There are a few other Tossers in the area, oldrascal is local and the Moorings Manager at the Harbour Master Office in Chichester Harbour where I go sailing, kayaking and fishing has a GS and I'm sure is a subscribed Tosser - He informed me that he's ridden across North Africa, I recall him mentioning Morocco.

Azcari - Dorking

Popped in to Azcari Dorking this morning to meet up with Craig and His wife Sandra - their hospitality is excellent and they have a superb set up running off raod courses - selling Sta Nav gear and the Touratech range. They are also a Husgavarna dealer - which I have a feeling is where the future lies.

These guys are trying something innovative so why not pop over and see them.
