New Battery

About to replace the original battery on my 5 year old F800GS.

Any ideas on a good one that will last like the original.

I replaced my 4yr OEM Exide battery with a Motobatt , via Amazon, which can offer additional terminals for the accessories, batt charger cable etc. it does not drain down as fast as the original, when parked up for extended periods.
I put the optima the on last night, as bike has been stood outside for a fortnight and it was happy, no charge needed :thumb2
The additional terminals are inexpensive and need to be ordered in addition to the battery.

Motobatt... additional terminals... it does not drain down as fast...

:agree

I would also add that the Motobatt also has greater cranking power. Your bike will EXPLODE into life with Motobatt.

I think they're cheaper than OEM too? I've paid around £50

I will only ever get Motobatt!

Also interested in which replacement battery is recommended, so posting onto this thread. Starting to get the slow crank on these cold mornings, battery charger hasn't made a difference. Stock battery is a little over 4 years old, never a problem prior.

After a fair amount of Mr Google, seeing positive and negative feedback on Motobatt, lots of great reviews for Odyssey expensive and a slight fitting modification needed, a few results for Shorai lithium batteries but mixed opinions, otherwise it looks like Yuasa (YTX14-BS?) is an acceptable replacement? Any recomendations for an alternative? Also, any advice as to whether an Oximiser 900 is suitable for the first charge of the Yuasa after installing the acid in the cells?

Thanks!

My GSf650 twin is 6 yrs old and i have fitted two batteries, first was a Yuasa. Lasted appx 2 yrs then no end of charging would revive it. Fitted a Motorbatt from Busters earlier in the year, fitted easily. Certainly perkier on cranking. Cold garages and limited winter use really see off even the best batteries
