Negativity doesnt come into it........these constant faults are fact!
Ok we can all be positive to the fact that our seals will perish at around 6 thous miles.

But of course i would!! if that was the wish of BXW then who am i to argue, i was wondering about getting some bed linnen with the bmw marque to go with the curtains!!!

You really are very bitter, clearly your experience of GS ownership has not been a happy one! However, that does not qualify you to piss on everyone else's pleasure.
Apart from anything else, do you not think that others have had problems with their bikes? In 3 years of ownership, my GS has been no more or less reliable than any other bike I've owned over the last 25+ years. The difference is that I love riding it so much, I don't wish to part with it now or in the foreseeable. Every time I ride it, whether it be solo, pillion, in a group or on my own - it brings a grin to my face. I've never enjoyed owning ANY bike so much. I'm not a "cult" follower, I just enjoy riding a fine motorcycle.
Are you really so naive to think that other manufacturers produce faultless machines? I'm not just talking Friday afternoon bikes, but intrinsic design flaws (dare I mention Pan Euro wobbles.....). If you go onto ANY other bike forum, you'll find people moaning about recalls, bad build quality etc etc. Unfortunately, recalls and mechanical failures are a fact of life - but then that's nothing new. There is no such thing as the perfect motorcycle, never has been and there never will be. Acceptance of this fact leads to a less stressful life and prevents one from developing a persecution complex
As for KiwiAdventure and his new bike - I just wish I could have a ride on it. That bike in that country......OMG, what a combination

You didn't answer my question - I repeat: You have previously stated that your bike has been completely FAULT FREE - Just what is your problem?

Tekky - We are all sorry that you have had a rare poor experience of the 1200, and trust that your new yam when you get it is not a Friday afternoon lemon too.
The vast majority of us on here would take the absolute opposite view to you. With good reason - the bikes are ridden hard and perform well. And if you think we worship at the shining arsehole of MBW then you havent read enough threads yet
i've edited another comment you've made on a different thread because we dont do piss taking in here - it's a technical forum.
i'd be obliged if you'd take such discussion to the Pub or the rant section

HEAR HEAR (or is it HERE HERE?) I've had the Pan wobbles, regulator/rectifiers on Blackbirds, camchains on numerous Hondas, corrosion on Yamahas and Suzukis. I've also had numerous warranty claims and now out of my own pocket problems. But as quoted above, the grin factor wins.
Whingers will always find something to whinge about. Must be in their nature!

Some more photos today. We are still waiting for Lands Transport NZ to load the details of the bike on there computer so I can get the bike on the road. I hope tomorrow. The dealer has changed the tires with the rear wheel installed. The front wheel is of my HP2 at this stage.
I had the dealer remove the head protectors and the rear plastic wheel guard. I don't like either. I have a set of carbon fibre head protectors off my HP2 which I will fit when off road.
The car in front is my new 118 diesel. It costs me about $56.00 Kiwi to run 700ks or about 20 pounds or 30 eur
I also have had the bike wired with the Touratech power connector. I can now install my radar, GPS and Baehr intercom system.

I got the first service on my 08 GSA done yesterday, so off this afternoon for a spin to check out the top of the rev range. Enjoy yours!
Don't go too mad with that trottle.... gradually introduce more over several hundreds of miles more. 600 miles is nothing........

I took delivery of the bike on Friday. First impressions is the bike is very light and corners great. The ESA is fantastic. The gear box is sweet
. as well my wife enjoyed her first ride. 
BMW have put the tool kit back into the 08 bikes.
I dropped the RT into the dealer today after I transferred all the electrical components over last night.

150k report. The 08 adventure is an all round better bike than my 1150 adventure by a long way, I thought I would never find a bike to ride great and have a gear box that was also geared correct at last for the bike.
