New bike. Head or heart?

I agree but interested as to why nice,n thinks it is a 520.:D

Thought you were going to go down the twin pipe route !!!!!

early ones have twin pipes :D :D

console yourself that you have pretty black rims on your xc :spitfire

me want .......wife want shoes though :spitfire :spitfire :spitfire

I haven't got the black rims cos mines an 06 and the black rims are standard on 07my bikes but you knew that ..................... didn't you ???

Without wanting to hyjack Tims thread too much (although it may be of interest to him ) why did you buy an xc ??

Because I don't do enduro's and only go trail riding so the 13 litre tank can give me a 120 mile range to reserve and if you do get bogged down there's no chance of an over heat due to the electric fan. My 04 MXC was £200 more expensive than the EXC but in 06 KTM made them both the same price so for me it was no brainer :thumb

No, carry on Matt.:thumb
The only way to find out about them is from those who own them.

Mind you, do I give a feck what colour the wheels are when they're covered in mud or I'm upside down. just as long as it ain't orange:D

A surprising result

Got out bid last night:tears at £2620 on ebay for the worlds ultimate trail/enduro bike:augie :P , a mint 450 fe Husaberg:(

So asked dave Clarke Racing what the deal was on a new '05 model fro Holland........

Then today was offered a second chance at £2570 because the winning bidder had put too many naughts on his highest bid:blast .

I spoke with the seller who seemed a very honest chap:thumb2 and the 3rd highest bidder was £2370.

After a long talk;) I'm going to get it tomorrow for......£2200:eek: a result or what:clap :clap
Still leaves me over £800 from the sale of the GSPD, which owed me less than £2000 if you include the sale of extra parts.

A long drive down to Wiltshire in the morning:) just hope I can sleep.:mmmm

You gonna need the spare £800 for all the fixing you gonna have to do. WHY?

Look at the start line of an enduro and you will see a smattering of Bergs. Look at the finish line and theres always less of them. Had some go out on the Mid wales trails we used to organise and run and they were the most prone to shit electricals, engine woes and various tranny probs. You will love it all the same till it goes wrong then fix it and maybe re run it or sell it. I know the petrol heads on hear will sing their praises but how many of them have had a Berg for 3 plus years with heavy trail use? Put 10-20k on an XR, etc and they love it.....try that on a Berg:augie

What about a Gasser 300 with full ohlins, KTM EGS with oil injection ( if you find a minter).

If you fancy a cuppa when you are downhere then give me mobile a ring tomorrow.

If its been used a lot on the Wilts Chalk trails have a good check on the frame rails etc for damage, ive seen a few XR's down this way that have had collapsed frame rails under the engine from hard rock landings when the suspension had botttomed or riders have miss timed yumps and landings.

Well call me petrol head then:D

If they've had 3 years hard trail use then it's unlikely they are the same type of bike I'm getting by a long way.
This particular bike has hardly been used.

Prior to '04 , yes they had problems now built at KTM with totally different carb and ignition etc etc.
The suspension is better spec than KTM it's lighter and more powerful.
Oh and the Welsh hillsides are full of orange graffiti:P
I want something different.

I've had XRs before zzzz, I'll be keeping my DR650 and just for once in my life I'm going to be riding a bike that thrills me with all aspects of it's performance, if i break it, I'll fix it.
If it breaks me, well at least I had one:D

So this time I'm getting a bike with my heart:rose

I ran an FS650 so not exactly the same but I found it ran very well, electrics were fine (I did tidy them a bit and make a couple of changes) and the only weak items were the front engine plates - cheap enough from DCR but I made a couple in the end and never had any more issues. Otherwise it is common sense, I did spend a lot of time on mine both on the road and in the workshop but I enjoy both :D

There is one other small detail Tim but I will PM you with that.
