Congrats on the bike... Am eagerly awaiting mine, did you have yours on order for 6 months?

I have been told mine will arrive some time in dec..maybe, I ordered it back in August

Just wondered if there are further delays ?

excellent taste with the colour scheme Nala - just happens to be the same as mine...
I ordered mine at the end of June and have just been told it will arrive in mid-nov. Maybe the boat docks in brisbane first, then they get road freighted elewhere - although my dealer claimed BM fly them out if there are enough on order.
I'm told my bike was built early Oct (keen to know which version of the final drive it had - but dealer could shed no light on this matter...!!!) which I guess would fit in with a sea passage from Europe to Oz.
Can't wait - been buying maps and plotting + a few accessories already.
Cheers

It's worth the wait, I got mine in late March with the first batch (I actually ordered in September '03) and have been absolutely delighted with the beast.
Don't know who your dealer is but Procycles Hornsby is planning some GS training days, the first in early December. Should be a lot of fun. I have ordered the Touratec crash bars in the probable event that my off-road skills will be shown to be exactly as they are.

Good to see they've finally started to arrive... I ordered mine on 01 May and it looks like I'll get it mid December. Like alot of others I'm getting a bit concerned about all the bad press, especially regarding brake failures:yikes , but still looking forward to ditching the VStrom and picking up the GS...

Have fun - let us know how she goes.

Wow sounds like a few of you have been waiting a lot longer than I have !! (better stop my whinging then !!)

I spoke to a dealer in Townsville the other day and he said that Australia was 17th in terms of market size world wide so there will be 16 countries ahead of us in terms of priority.

My problem is I had my last bike pinched 2 months ago and have been on the bus since then and am very loathed to go and buy something else as the ins money will go towards the 1200 and all this beautiful weather is going to waste

Still the waiting will make the bike seem so much sweeter when it finally arrives.

Mike

I also a Yellow one (wire wheels) on order :( :D
