Im picking up my bmw1200gs enduro 2013 8000 miles on Monday is there anything I should look out for or be worried about as I know very little about these bikes

dont listen to them !!!if you like it and it fits the bill ..go get it ……just get the extended warranty though or and ask about the heated grips oh and the gearbox has it been replaced ?

There were a good number of complaints about the early bikes, I reckon at least two dozen lemons reported here. But a dilgent (picky) owner together with a helpful dealer will have sorted those issues by now. If they didn't then make sure you get a comprehensive 12 month warranty & look through the threads on here to see if yours has any of the common issues that hasn't been fixed.

Mine had only one, the engine start switch. I mentioned it to the dealer as I collected it after 6,000 mile service (of course saying before would have been better). Only to be told they had replaced it as part of a preventative recall programme without me asking.

Just ride it & enjoy it.

just been told all recalls done and its had a service and all it needed was a dash update but people can say owt lol Will buy it tomorrow and enjoy till something goes wrong or not :)

If it is less than 2 years old - yes. After that try people such as Warranty Direct, but read small print, it is not nearly as comprehensive as the(expensive)BMW extended warranty.

I bought my GS new in 2004.
I've not had a warranty for a very long time now..... also I haven't had any other bikes.

:)
