Went out for a great ride today. First time with my new Sidi adventure boots. The extra support and thick sole were perfect to give me that little bit of extra leg length that I needed to feel secure. However the new problem is that I am struggling to feel the gear change. It is like the pedal is now a touch too low. Can I simply remove the footrest rubbers or am I going to have to fit one of the expensive aftermarket gear shift levers? Alternatively will I get used to it as the boots break in. Even two up the rock solid lines that the bike holds are just amazing and just gives you great confidence. Even managed a slow speed u turn two up today by using the advice to look behind me and where I wanted to go. I do not claim to understand the physics but it just works.

Have look at the linkage, the older bikes like my 1150 had an adjuster built in.

Do you not just slide it of the toothed spindle, then turn it into the next grove (..or more) then re tighten? :nenau

Anyone able to advise on how to do this

Can anyone post up a guide on how to adjust the height of the gear change pedal. I would hate to mess it up.

Sad fucker

Just ride your bike until you're used to it with your new high heels on.......

Stop whining, you typical 12xx twat :blast

Sorry, I'm in one of those moods, but seriously, WTF? :nenau

He's a bad man. I would never write that :D

Fella just got back to bikes and asked a simple question about a bike in a bike forum, your response is OTT Fanum :(

If you looks at the linkage, you will see a threaded bar with a nut at each end. Back the nuts off and turn the bar to raise or lower the lever. Don't forget to nip the nuts back up once you have finished adjusting! :rob

Thanks. I have seen some advice that advises to move the whole lever on the spline rather than the turnbuckle. Bless Fanum for his kind and eloquent pros. He obviously makes the mistake of being a forum hero and thinks I give a damn. I would much rather ask a question and look foolish than do something that costs a fortune to put right if I cock it up. By the way the high heels are great boots :kissy2

Buy one of them Peugeot scoots or similar, I think you might be more suited to twist and go, no gears to worry about :thumby:

Why don't you move to the B&B and start posting on there and compete with some of the other fekin trolls? You seem to have developed an unhealthy obsession with a bike you don't even own..... the following little smiley represents you perfectly :spank

thats as maybe, but whats up with you...usually a helpful bugger :thumb

Maybe it's sad, but I've gone past the stage where I can seriously offer advice when people say that they have a big great booger in their right nostril and want to know what to do with it :blast

People who won't even make the slightest effort to think for themselves about really totally and utterly trivial stuff just get right on my tits :(

Yep, I know what you mean..... check out the billions of questions about the 'best scottish roads' on the SS when a simple search would find them all? But, the genuine ones needing an answer or a bit of help will always be welcome as is the case here :thumb
