Think I’m going to treat the old lady to new pads front & rear…..fronts are getting down & I thought the rears were grabbing slightly, pistons & slides move fine but the rear pads & pin look a tad dirty & rusty.
suppose the question is, simply, do you guys have any preference on what & where? Motorworks & EBC or Ferodo spring to mind….unless you tell me otherwise!😁 Is there a ‘fan’s favourite’….be interested to hear your thoughts. As always, much appreciated.

Always used ebc , I think they are on the softer side and can wear quicker than some but I always thought easier to change pads than the disc

OEM, expensive but last well. used them for the first 50.000 miles or so.(probably only 2 sets😁)
Ebc double H . Some say they will wear discs faster but I've been using them for years and after 135.000 miles I'm still only on my second set of discs.

I've said this many times, but for the love of God, do not buy "Goldfren" pads ever.

If you see them, take an angle grinder and cut them in half then throw them into the sea so that no other poor bastard can suffer from them either.

EBC HH sintered would be my choice

I find them to be great at stopping ( the primary objective of pads)
with plenty of feel and they are reasonably priced and last well

From my experience all the established brands mentioned above should be fine. I would suggest ordering direct from MW and the usual specialist suppliers though and not from others on eBay. I am convinced some of these are copies as I have had what appear to be EBC pads before and they were shot in less than 1k!

Agree. Fitted a new set to the rear on a 14 GS just before a trip to Spain and they were down to the metal half way through France.

I'm sure I've read that before, think I've got some on an old Montesa somewhere, but agree, wouldn't use them on a road bike.

Demon Tweeks have the best deal so far with Motorworld not far behind. Scared stiff to order off flabby in case, as you say, they are counterfeit!

I just ordered EBC sintered front pads for my Himmy off Demon Tweeks on eBay good price and free p&p.

just seems strange to me that these folks often sell cheapest on eBay?

I put EBC HH in my Tmax from eBay, bought from a known bike spares shop online store. Whilst they are not likely to sell knock off stuff intentionally, I am disappointed in the bite and feel and think they are poor quality. I’d consider them as ‘adequate’ rather than good. I’m going to try and find a set of Bendix MRR pads to replace them which are the best compound I have used.

I bought an R1 with Goldfren pads in it. I would say it was dangerous to ride. Replacement pads were like night and day.

I have no personal experience with Volvo cars.

Always have used EBC HH sintered or Brembo sintered. Brake pads, like tyres and brake discs, are something I never skimp on. As above NEVER fot Goldfren if you value your neck. Its surprising that they're allowed to be sold legitimately, they're that bad.

Car's can usually get away with a lower performing pad as they use DI discs (Ductile Iron) which has a much higher friction coefficient than the Stainless discs on motorcycles and are much more heavily assisted, so a slight deficiency in the pad compound will go totally unnoticed by the average car driver.

Motorcycles are a luxury item ridden by enthusiasts in the main, so we take notice of the feel and overall experience of riding and will notice a deficient brake pad.

For me I usually fit either SBS HS or EBC HH and like both.
