New computer needed

OK, new tack

We've decided to go for a laptop instead as her office is to be in the conservatory and I don't think it's such a good idea to leave a computer in there what with all the temperature variation and such. She can put a laptop away when she's finished with it inside the main part of the house. :thumb2

So, I'm thinking of this one. What do you reckon?

Just my tu'pence worth ACER have the worst Customer Service period. My last ACER started acting up at 6 months old. The techs managed to bluff and BS me till the Warranty ran out. I have a none computer only fit for ballast as a result.

I suggest a Toshiba, Dell, HP ..... you get the idea.

ACER UK service dept is in Plymouth.
Ours lost sound @ 11 months old.
Quick phone call and it was picked up next day and returned fully fixed 4 days later PLUS we had Email updates daily..
So impressed we took out the further 2 year warranty for £56..
This year it was left switched on on a soft surface which blocked airflow and fecked the motherboard:(, again collected next day and returned 4 days later with new motherboard [refurbished mo/boards go for £150 plus :eek:]
Again full updates were sent daily...I would buy another ACER in a flash..

I'm absolutely envious - Consumer Reports (USA) don't rate Acer's CS above awful but you have completely destroyed my argument. Having said that I finally took a hammer to it as ACER were so uncooperative. The computer now acts as a hamster cage!
