New Crash Helmet?

thanks for all your useful advice, we are travelling up through glasgow to loch lomond in a couple of weeks so ill drop in to sportsbikeshop and try a few on!

I’ve found the HJC RPHA-90 to be the same fit for my head shape as a previous Shoei Neotec 2 and a Shark flipfront.

Be aware if buying the HJC online/ mail order that they use different shell sizes for different helmets meaning an XL in one of their ranges is 60-61 …. but an XL in another range is 61-62 cms.
I made the mistake of ordering an XL because that’s the size I take in other helmets…. but the RPHA-90 was smaller. Should have bought an XXL in that model.

Helmet City do good discounts towards the end of the season if you can wait that long.
I had the same trouble with an HJC,it was ok at first but ended up giving me a bad headache, gave up trying and managed to sell it on Vinted.Spent a lot more money on an AGV Tourmodular and it was worth every penny,so much more comfortable

Just watched this on YouTube.
Nothing that would surprise me .but just another aspect on why these private equity companies aren’t any good for competition.

Was that because of the sizing issue or just not right for your head shape?

As you're used to a full face, I'd stick with that (assuming you're happy!!) Having had Shoei FF's I bought a Neotec (2 I think) Seemed very heavy trying it on at home. Exchanged for a HJC Carbon flip, lighter & I was happy for a while, but build quality poor, visor ratchet failed & would not hold the visor open a crack. Noisier than a FF. Well before I'd usually replace a helmet I bought a Shoei NX2 & think its great. I'll replace with another NX2 (or whatever gen available when time comes to replace)

The Visor Shop supply repair kits for those HJC ratchet mechanisms and parts for other brands.

I’ve got both the Shoei Neotec 3 and Shark Oxo. The Shoei is plusher and quieter but I prefer the Shark in warm weather as riding with it flipped over is much nicer than riding with the Shoei chin bar hovering over your head .
Currently in the Vercors and have ridden with my Shark flipped open for the last three days .

Have you considered the LS2 advent carbon flip over ?
I’ve just got one in the gloss carbon, and I have to say it looks and feels extremely good.
Comes with 2 visors ( clear and tinted ), drop down internal sun visor, genuine ‘pin lock’, helmet bag and a rucksack. All for £379 delivered.

that could be a good option if anyone finds the Shark Oxo or Nolan N120 (same apart from logo) is not the right shape. A&D in Denbigh stock them but I could not get a good fit
