I like the X challenge, a lot, but I can't see any point in it when KTM do it cheaper, lighter and better set-up out the box.

Depends on what you paid for an XC Snoopy, mine was less than a new DRZ400S

And a lot cheaper than a new KTM, especially the new 690 (the X is lighter than one of those too)

Even if I mod the suspension I'll still be in front

Will a KTM last as long as a BMW developed Rotax...........maybe yes or no

Wasn't this a thread about a new and happy Dakar owner wanting to modify his bike to suit his needs

It was

Anyway now that it's quietened down, the Touratech site says that the fairing protection bars (upper ones) will not fit with the lower BM Dakar bars

It looks like they mount in the same place, or am I being thick (most likely!!).

If I wanted a DRZ I would have bought one (certainly wouldn't fancy riding that or an x challenge to the alps and back.

Love the Dak, a few choice mods and I think it'll be dead on for my requirements. Looks like I'll have to use Touratech again though
