New Dakar Rally in Romania ?

Amaury Sport Organisation announces the creation of the Central Europe
Rally. This new rally organised under the "Dakar Series" certification will
take place from April 20th to the 26th in Hungary and Romania.
Scrutineering and administrative checks will take place on 19th of April in
Budapest.

Looks like it's been made so as to lessen the blow back from all the pissed Dakar riders who found themselves out of pocket this year.

Very cleverly scheduled to clash with the Optic Rally of Tunisia.

Looks to me like the ASO are making a bid to create a new series to completely replace the Rally Raid world cup , or whatever is is currently called.

I'm not sure if this is a good thing, or a bad thing, if it raises the profile and gets more coverage then great, but it's a bit of a p!sser for the organisers of the other Rally Raids.
