New Exhaust system

Well I bit the bullet and bought some new headers and a new end can, well they are 2nd hand but new to me.

Fitted them friday and took the bike out today fora spin to see what if any difference they make.

Fors

The bike is so smooth now at lower speeds, in traffic, manuvering etc and really no different at higher revs, it seems to pull a little better but nothing that made me want to give it some all the time.
Engine runs better at tick over, seems happier and less bogged down. overall i am more than happy with the exhaust.
Oh nearly forgot it does the job I really bought it for in the first place, the headers do not run as hot so my feet are safe from the heat of the pipes.

Against

It is bloody loud, the lad I bought the end can off is sending me the DB killer as he forgot to send it with the pipe. It pops it bangs and it just sounds bloody stupid.
Hoping the db killer will make it sound better, quieter, if not the standard end can will be fitted. Mrs heard me coming into the estate which she never normally does, its a bmw not a gixxer 1000 she says ha ha!!! I know it will be louder than the standard pipe I am not that nieve but this is not a nice loud its a silly loud, as in silly sound not loudness.

Ok DB killer fitted and it sounds alot better, just got to see if the mrs likes it now with her on the back.

Noticed alot more engine brake with the db killer in too, more back preasure I guess.

You forgot to mention what make of exhaust you brought. Just curious as I've got remus headers and OEM end can on my 07 1200gsa .

I got the Remus headers and the remus revolution end can.

Like said if the wife does not like it at the weekend when we go out the standard end can will be back on. I wil leave the headers on though as they make such a difference.
