On Nippy Normans Christmas email, a list of new bikes for 2025; a mid sized RT, a 1300 RT and ( fanfare) a R12GS. Hurrah!

Go on, enlighten me. I had a quick visit to the NN website but could see what you speak of.

It wasn’t on the website. It was on his Christmas email. Do you subscribe to his emails?
No I don’t. But thanks for clearing that up.

What’s the midsize RT that you mention. Is it an F series?

The old F800GT (the follow on from the F800ST) got decent write ups, had belt drive and the peppy 90hp 800 parallel twin...didn't sell well though....(you can get a decent 19 plate for less than £5k from a dealer....or pay a chunk more for a GS that most will never off road) Maybe now is the time for it to do well (in the UK)

Apart from the 1300RT....it almost feels like someone has asked "What have we got in the leftovers bin?...enough of anything to make a 'new' model? "

Rumors of a new "R12GS" I've heard so many times already, dare I believe it's true? For years I have been thinking about building a "real GS" based on the Urban GS. If BMW finally builds one it will be the first time in many years that I consider buying a new BMW motorcycle. The, for me, complete twin-cam engine in a chassis that works off road!!. If it has 21" front wheels and good suspension components, I'll buy one. But like I said, I'll believe it when I see it. That a true GS would finally be built seems too good to be true.

Perhaps the r12gs will be like the ‘urban’ version of the R9t. Sounds interesting.

R1300RS sounds like it could be interesting.

I thought this was a good effort

R12GS could be interesting for some but I think the new R12S is cynical...Just a R Nine T in Daytona Orange with a nice looking half fairing as a new R1300S could/should have been the modern version of the R1100S !
As for the new R1300RT it still has Telelever which is great and hopefully the R1250R/RS replacements will go back to Telelever / fingers crossed too ! If BMW is smart they replace the R with a XR version of the GS and then add a S-portboxer as versatile and attractive the R90S and R1100S where in their days ! That would be exiting...LOL

Bring back the HP2E.
