I downloaded the latest version of Garmin POI Loader and there is a new feature which I found to be useful.
There is now an option to name the POI file that you are loading to the GPS unit, a Zumo 550 in my case.
This means that you can load multiple POI files without having to manually rename them on the unit each time you add a new file.
