Was fettling this weekend (HID lights fitted - not been out in the dark yet so cannot really comment, save that they are BRIGHT - commute home will be interesting tonight).
Thought I'd give the gear linkage a clean and lube while I was at the spanner drawer.
A real case of "didn't realise how bad it was till I fixed it". Hadn't had any real problems with changing - I keep things under control with WD40 etc, but after a strip, rub and lube of the mount assembly (10 mins max with a Y-piece fitted), the difference was HUGE.
Do yourself a favour and invest 10 mins - it'll either have the same effect, or at worst, be preventative given the impending winter with salt and grit and all that.
