New Green Party Bike Ban

Was just about to post seeing did anyone have some nice legal off-roadish tracks over the Wicklow Mountains and I saw the above article. Is there any point now?

Took a 3 hour spin around the Wicklow Mountains yesterday armed with my OSI map but any roads that looked interesting on the map were blocked off. Anyone have a few good routes? Might try and get a few spins in before the ban.....
 
I am surprised at them but then again it's the ****ing green party! They don;t want a dozen old trees cut down but they are happy for 30thousand cars to sit ticking over while the rush hour is on pumping out goodness knows what?? I never could figure that one

In the past I always found that there was a very practical side to the Irish politicians (Even charley had sense to save a few coins! Allegedly)

Instead of Banning riding everywhere Why don't they provide a "Route" thru the mountains so that all can enjoy and Sensitive areas stay preserved Feckin Green Twats! Bans don't work people find ways around them!

Most of all set a Loudness level! That would be quite good! in it's own

Why not enter in to negotiation with the Authorities? Indeed a permissive route could be created, but cost and policing it would create issues. Not to stop you asking though..... you never know.

Ahhh, but the fines increase, eventually to criminal damage and jail.....

The TRF is UK (Wales/England) do some fighting to preserve routes over here. Take a look at their site, they may ahve some tips/info. http://www.trf.org.uk/

Thats depressing... They have put down tracks for walkers over some of these areas so why not bikes also.?? A lot of the old bike tracks are out of the way and away from walkers etc, and in general the bikes are sticking to the same tracks which have been used for years, so are not damaging fresh flora and fauna etc. There has to be room for everybody out there if we all showed some common sense where and how we ride...

They are a feckin nuisance in the UK as well. I met some at a social a few years ago, what a bunch of misguided left wing, middle class, naieve interfering feckwits they were.
 
I would consider myself 'green', but this lot are a bunch of clowns and no mistake. I plan to do my part to vote them off to the same place the PDs ended up in irish politics.
