My original grips on my 2001 1150gs are a bit knackered and I'd like to change them. The heater elements are fine however. Can I change just the grips? Is it easy/difficult?

Advice much appreciated

If you're really careful with a craft knife, you can cut the old ones off & replace them with standard (unheated) ones. ISTR that you will need two left handed grips, though...

Can someone corect me if I'm wrong as I've got the same problem to sort, soon. The last time I had to do it was with my old airhead. Hairspray makes a good lubricant to help ease the new grips over the heating element.

new grips

These are easy to do but you will require two r/h grips. Pull the rubber away at the bar end and then cut the rubber away with a pair of side cutters that way there's no chance of damaging the eliments. Good sticky on the adventure riders site covers this.
